We’ve been in Sydney for three weeks now and there are some aspects of the city that are quickly becoming my favorite things. Today I’m going to share two with you. First, is one that I can’t really capture for you, so I’m just going to have to tell you about it. All of the intersections in the city have pedestrian signs for when it’s time to walk. Pretty common, right? Wrong! These are super laser signs. When the little red man standing still turns into the green walking man there’s this amazing sound that comes with it. The sound makes me think of what an alien later would sound like. It makes me really happy. Obviously.
The second thing is the Royal Palace Botanical Garden. It happens that I have to walk through the garden in order to get to my yoga studio – and I go to yoga almost every day, so the garden and I are becoming fast friends. I think it can be assumed that I like anything outside that’s green, but this garden has really fascinated me. Not only does it hold a lot of impeccably manicured lawns with roses, but there are parts of the garden that make you feel like you’re in a forest in the middle of nowhere, or even a jungle! It’s really incredible. I’ve easily spent between 5 – 7 hours there already and I have maybe covered half of the garden. The other day I decided to bring my camera. Here are some of the photos that I took.
Leaning trunk of tree-sa. Ha!
There are so many knobby trunks in the garden. This guy was gigantic.
I think this is supposed to be an imitation of the glass pyramid at the Louvre.
This guy reminded me of a wrapping paper bow.
I checked, the dots on these leaves are not painted on.
This bark (maybe? I’m not quite sure what it should be called) reminded me of orangutan fur.
The trunk of the tree on the right was huge. It would take at least four people to wrap their hands around it.
